Hey the term is grape wine communication. it is both useful and harmful to an organisation, in the sense this type of communication is used to transmit messeage in an unofficial manner say frm manager to employees between employees n so on........it is useful wen the organisation wants the employees to know the message but not full details they communicate it through grapevines. they convey message to a person to an employee whom they know cant keep thngs confidential, so dat he transmitts de same to his co employees but it is not official. it may be only a partial message or biased one it may be anythng. but it is disadvantageous wen gossips spread in the organisations. many a time such gossips may affect morale of workers. then it wil be dangerous to organisation. the term grape vine originated from military.
